It should never have happened.

I've been busy with personal things and unable to completely follow threads on here. I was alerted today to the situation and things have happened.

This is in regard to the vlamour query that has a very long reply chain. I've removed (unpublished) several of the replies/comments as they were so far off-topic as to be an embarrasment to me and probably many readers. I really don't like doing this but I felt it necessary.

There were also several excellent posts in there that I'm grateful for and I'm sure are of value to many as well as vlamour.

When someone comes here asking for help or they are looking for ideas to help get to a goal, they aren't interested in marketing nor are they interested in whose Speech Recognition program can beat up the other. The technology is nearly the same anymore so why argue about it? The bottom line is that they were asking for assistance and this was NOT provided by a good number of the replies/comments.

I've been told this site has been argumentative. It should NOT be that way. We are all (or so I thought) on a common goal here. That goal being to use our computers with Speech Recognition and learn from each other on better ways to do it. That should not require argument and bickering.

I think we are all mature adults. I also think it's time for the bickering to cease. If it doesn't cease then I will make it cease. I hope that's understood.

All parties are welcome to post and participate - just keep it civil and away from inflammatory issues.

I whole heartedly agree. I have been finding it hard to follow some of the threads.

I agree. It would help if people cut and snipped only the relevant points. Having to read through the whole reposting of a person's message is tedious and a turn off. If I were replying to this post I would just snip the following:

Thanks Skip for doing this.
